ANIME SWAG: My message to CN

flaminghomos:

Hey CN!

I’d like to say that I’m a huge fan of this series and you don’t know how much this means to me! I have a huge bond with my 8 year old sister through this show and I would also love to point out that I’m almost 20 years old. I’m sure this is going to be one of the many messages that you…

The next to last paragraph in this is what I feel speaks the most to me. Although I myself am not homosexual, homosexuality doesn’t bother me in the least. I think of it as something second nature because I am used to it, but to people who think that bringing it out into the light will “convert people” obviously haven’t seen people like me.

Also OP I’m very glad to hear how your sister is changing her opinion, and to be honest, that’s all I really want from the show. I don’t even mind so much if they make it canon as much as just not censoring it from the world. Sure, it can be taken as friendship, but just the hinting fact that there is a possibility there can really change things! It can make children learn that bullying others for who they like is wrong, and although they don’t have to feel the same way as the person they are ridiculing, perhaps just accepting it would be that much easier if things like these showed up more often.

Can someone in the know compile a list of phone numbers and/or emails of people at CN and AT we can call/write to? So we can write these messages en masse? By censoring the AT team’s opinions on the subject, CN is sending a message that reeks of “you can’t expose children to these ideas because they are wrong,” and that is a problem.

It is the problem.
